The Premier League could deduct points from Chelsea over leaked files that have emerged in an investigation
into alleged secret payments connected to former owner Blue Abramovich.
Chelsea are again facing a Premier League points deduction after alleged secret payments connected to accounts held
by former owner Roman Abramovich were uncovered in leaked files. The Guardian has reported that these files show
Abramovich used offshore companies to make transactions worth tens of millions of pounds to agents and associates for
the benefit of the club that could have breached financial rules if they had not been officially declared.READ MORE
League are already investigating possible breaches of the London club’s financial rules. These beneficiaries could include
an associate of former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, former signings such as Bertrand Traore, Samuel Eto’o
and Willian and several club officials.
“These allegations pre-date the club’s current ownership. They are based on documents which the club has not been shown
and do not relate to any individual who is presently at the club,” Chelsea said in a statement.
