Ex-West Ham and Newcastle coach has talked up the possibility of working at Burnley

The move of Vincent Kompany has left a void in the Burnley head coach’s position, which the Premier League underdogs are
now looking to fill. And that’s where an already rather forgotten hero came to the fore.

Former West Ham and Newcastle coach Alan Pardew took the opportunity to remind himself, saying he knows how to get
the team back into the Premier League and if the Clarinets bosses approach him, he will not refuse them:

“I haven’t had any conversations with the club at the moment, otherwise it would have been made official! It’s nice to be associated with them, I think the team is quite good, the owners are well organised and the financial situation is probably better than Leicester were last year.Manchester United

It would be a huge challenge for me to take on because I’d like to get the team back into the Premier League. I’ve done it before, I’ve built teams that have come back to the Premier League: West Ham, Southampton. So that’s the way it is, I’d be open to that,” Pardew told talkSPORT.

The 62-year-old’s last job was with Greek side Aris in the 2022/2023 season. Former Nottingham Forrest head coach Steve Cooper is thought to be the main contender for the Burnley job.
