Martinez injury not looking good, admits Ten Hag

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was asked about Lisandro Martinez’s injury at a post-match press conference following his side’s 3-0 win over West Ham on Sunday. The Dutch manager admitted that his injury looks bad but that they expect him to recover soon.

Manchester United climbed into the Premier League’s top six as Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho struck to show further signs of a bright future for the Red Devils in a 3-0 win over West Ham.

Victory, though, came at a cost as Lisandro Martinez hobbled off with a potentially serious knee injury. “I can’t tell the detail but it seems bad. We have to wait for the detail and making the right diagnosis in the coming days. We’ll see what is going on.READ MORE

“In this moment, we’re very sad about this but, hopefully, it’s not too bad. We can only pray,” Ten Hag told reporters at the post-match press conference. “We have to find out in the next days what is the diagnosis. It’s very bad for him and very bad for the team.”

The Manchester United boss went on to add: “It looks like he has to sit some games out injured again but let’s stay positive at this moment. Hopefully, it’s not too bad but we have to wait.”
