“Negreira case”. Court acquits Barcelona president of bribery charges

The court acquitted the president of Barcelona in the “Negreira Case,” where Laporta was accused of bribery, as
reported by AS.

The court cleared the Barcelona president of criminal responsibility in the bribery case involving payments to former
vice president of the Technical Committee of Arbiters (CTA) of Spain, Jose Maria Enrique Negreira. Additionally, all leaders of the Catalan club and board members from 2003 to 2010 were acquitted.

This ruling, based on strict criteria, allows us to clarify the facts under investigation to provide important explanations while maintaining our belief that through justice, the absolute innocence of the club will be proven,” the club stated.

It is worth noting that recently, the head of Investigative Court No. 1 in Barcelona extended the investigation into the case related to payments to former vice president of the Technical Committee of Arbiters (CTA) Jose Maria Enrique Negreira.

The investigation will continue for at least another six months, pending the report from the Civil Guard.READ MORE

However, the judicial process in the “Negreira Case” remains open due to accusations of sports corruption and disloyal management. In both cases, nothing has been proven.
