Official: Liverani is the new Salernitana coach

Fabio Liverani is officially the new coach of Salernitana after Pippo Inzaghi was sacked, becoming the third different
tactician to sit on the Stadio Arechi bench in this troubled season.

The statements were released this afternoon, confirming first that Inzaghi had been relieved of his duties, then that
Liverani had signed a contract until June 30.

The 47-year-old former Lazio and Italy midfielder returns to football management after his brief 20-match spell on the Cagliari bench ended in December 2022.

His other clubs as coach were Genoa, Leyton Orient, Ternana, Lecce and Parma.

Curiously, Liverani has worked several times with director of sport Walter Sabatini now.READ MORE

Inzaghi had only taken the Salernitana job on October 10 and was fired after managing just three wins, four draws and 11 defeats between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
