Two leaders of Inter Milan will extend their contracts with the club until 2029

The reigning Serie A champions, Inter Milan, aim to retain two of their key players by offering them contract extensions.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri have proposed new deals to forward Lautaro Martinez and midfielder
Nicolo Barella. Both players are willing to continue their collaboration with Inter and have agreed to the terms set by the
Milanese club. They have already settled on their salaries, and the documents will soon be signed.

It is worth noting that Inter recently struggled to reach an agreement with their leading forward, Lautaro Martinez,
regarding the terms of a new contract. The club initially offered the Argentine a salary three million euros less than what he desired.

The 26-year-old Lautaro has been with the Nerazzurri since 2018. Inter paid Argentine club Racing 25 million euros for the player. Since then, the Argentine national team striker (56 caps, 22 goals) has scored 129 goals in 282 matches for the Milan team.

On July 13, 2019, Inter officially announced the signing of Nicolo Barella on a one-year loan with an obligatory purchase option.

The player committed to the club with a five-year contract.READ MORE

Inter Milan has transitioned ownership to a new company, Oaktree Capital. Inter’s president, Steven Zhang, is required to repay a €395 million loan to Oaktree Capital Management, but it seems he is unable to do so. Consequently, the American company has taken control of the Milanese club.
