Tributes to actor Carl Weathers have poured in following the actor’s death at 76.
Weathers starred in Predator, Happy Gilmore and the Mandalorian, but is best known for his role as Apollo Creed in
the legendary Rocky series and co-star Sylvester Stallone lead the outpouring of grief.

Weathers started his career in sport as an NFL linebacker, before breaking into acting and directing,
where he established himself as a truly legendary figure within sport, action and comedy.
But it was perhaps as Apollo whom he became most associated with, starring in the first four Rocky films,
the franchise about a small-time club fighter who gets an unlikely shot at boxing’s heavyweight title.
Stallone, who played the title character, was visibly upset as he stood in front of a painting depicting an iconic moment between the pair, to honour his friend.
